INSTALLATION and MAINTENANCE Instructions for the Inferno Racing clutch with a needle bearing. This clutch is a two (2) piece mechanism. There is a potential that if the clutch is not assembled or installed properly that serious injury can occur.
⚠️ WARNING It is VERY important that you follow all the steps for proper clutch installation.
⚠️ WARNING Do not operate without proper guarding/cover.
NOTE: YOU MUST CLEAN A NEW CLUTCH TO REMOVE THE RUST INHIBITORS PRIOR TO FIRST USE.
For best results, perform the following weekly maintenance:
FIRE CLUTCH – The FIRE clutch has a bonded friction lining on the shoe and operates in a 4 1/8″ inside diameter drum. The clutch should be cleaned with brake cleaner. Do not sand the drum or shoes.
FLAME, FURY, & BLAZE CLUTCH – These clutches have powdered metal shoes and 4″ inside diameter drums. For best performance, the clutch should be cleaned with WD-40 only! Do not use brake cleaner!
The needle bearing should be lubricated with a small amount of high-temperature bearing grease. Do not over-lubricate the bearing. Do not spray lube on the chain next to the drum.
THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE ILLUSTRATED WITH THE FIRE DRUM AND FIRE SHOE.
THE FLAME, FURY, & BLAZE FOLLOW THE SAME ASSEMBLY STEPS.

STEP 11
.jpg)
Clutch assembled to your preferred engaging speed and orientation on the clutch hub.
Install the shoe/hub assembly.
STEP 12
.jpg)
The clutch will be clamped tight on the crankshaft to minimize fretting of keyway or damage to the integral key in the clutch hub.
