V8SCOPS - About

We've been supporting motor racing enthusiasts since 2005 with a range of products that enable easier entry into the traditionally expensive sport so that they can enjoy racing much sooner than expected.  With same day dispatch and fast free delivery CPR is the most convenient way to buy Kart & Sim Parts no matter where you are in Australia.  Impressive technological advantages over the last few years have paved the way for a highly professional online motorsport arena which provides an intensely competitive real-world alternative for drivers who prefer not to fund expensive real-world racing, or want to keep their skills in peak condition when not at the track.

That's why in 2018 CPR Kart & Sim Parts will proudly co-sponsor the most successful online Sim Racing league, OSR, to help bring the premier online V8 Supercar series V8SCOPS to a wider audience with live youtube and facebook broadcasts by V8SONLINE.

Chosen for its highly professional V8SCOPS series with incredible clean and fair racing, the league is accessible by anyone with a PC and an iRacing subscription and showcases the most talented drivers.  V8SCOPS removes financial and political advantages by ensuring vehicles are 100% mechanically identical and drivers adhere to the strict race etiquette via live marshalling, adding an even more affordable level to CPR Kart & Sim Parts goal of helping motor sport enthusiasts go racing sooner.  CPR Kart & Sim Parts believes that the winning combination of V8SCOPS, V8SONLINE and iRacing will be the future of affordable motorsport through its ultra-realistic motorsport simulation and a strong community of drivers including some well-known real-life V8SUPERCAR drivers.

Over the coming months we'll be introducing you to the new range of sim products available to improve your immersion and experience an exciting new motorsport experience.

Here at the V8 Supercar Online Premier Series, we’re really excited to see the amount of exposure and interest this championship has attained. We’ve recently been getting a lot of messages and comments asking questions about the series and how to get involved with it, so to make things a little easier for everyone, we’ve decided to create this video to talk about the basic facts of our championship and how you can get in on the action.

V8SCOPS uses the racing simulation service iRacing. iRacing is different from other racing games in that it is not a one-off product that you purchase. It is instead an online-only subscription service - one pays a subscription fee to use the service and base content, and then purchases more individual cars and tracks on top of that. Available for purchase are both the Holden VF Commodore, and Ford FG Falcon V8 Supercars from 2014, plus three Australian tracks: Phillip Island, Oran Park and Mount Panorama. This is in addition to a large amount of cars and tracks from all over the world, and from many disciplines of motor racing. The older-generation Ford Falcon from 2012 is also available as part of the base content, but we use the newer cars.

Full pricing information can be found on the site - www.iracing.com. If you’re interested in trying out iRacing for a low price, we have our own discount code that you can use. Purchase a 3-month subscription, then at checkout, enter the code PR-V8SCOPS2016. You’ll get the three months for only 5 US dollars.

The platform is Desktop Computer only. iRacing is not available on consoles. But that’s no reason to be discouraged - iRacing’s engine runs well on basic hardware, so chances are high that you can run it. Windows, Mac OS and Linux are all supported, though the majority of racers run Windows. Detailed system requirements can, again, be found on iRacing’s website. In terms of controls, there is support for many control types, but it is strongly recommended that a force-feedback wheel be used for the best and safest experience.

So, how do you get involved in the series itself? Well, iRacing’s main draw is its official series and events, which are sanctioned both by iRacing and many real-life racing organisations. Cars and series are organised into license levels, determined by your safety rating - which is a measure of how safe your driving is. V8SCOPS, for the most part, is run outside this. It is a hosted series, independently run and managed by the community, for the community. The series is open to anyone who can make the cut, as long as you’ve managed to get your iRacing license level to C or above, and pay our own $5 registration fee.

To find us, jump on the member forums via the main website, and scroll down to the “Ford & Holden V8 Supercars” sub-forum. In there you will find relevant threads for the V8 Supercar Online Premier Series where you can sign up, read briefings, and keep up with happenings in the championship, in addition to a wealth of discussions on the cars themselves and how to get the best out of them.
