What's mean, green and a scary machine? Brett Smith's Formula 250 - just have a look how intimidating this thing is!
When Brett Smith decided he wanted to run speedway, a Formula 250 kart was the only way to go - with an extreme level of power and grip the only thing about this thing that whispers the word 'safe' is the impressive rollcage and the incredible level of attention to detail - but let's not forget the fact that this is super clean - and they run on dirt! Scroll down to the bottom fo the thread for a sneak peak of what it looks like to drive one of these beasts!
In Brett's own words "Most of it is built from CPR parts" - Full disclosure - Brett is currently the president of the NQ Formula 250 clutb in north queensland - if you're keen to give this a go you can get in touch by visiting their facebook page by CLICKING HERE.
Here's a run-down from the man behind this insane machine:
What is this awesome thing you've built?
Speedway Formula 250 Kart
Why did you decide to build this project?
To race in Speedway Formula 250’s. It’s the third one I’ve built and my oldest son Kobi races alongside me in one of the other karts. Our club has been in limbo for quite some time with nowhere to race but now that Pioneer Park Speedway at Brandon has reopened, we are getting the club up and running and taking it up a level.
What is still left to do to finish it?
Not much just cosmetic stuff.
What are you going to do with it when it's finished?
Race in Speedway Formula 250 Karts and use it for practice days. Raced it on Saturday night at Pioneer Park for the first time.
Why did you buy your parts from CPR?
Very Affordable, Good Quality, Great Service and Advice and without a doubt the best delivery times of any company I have ever dealt with.
What was the best thing about the CPR parts you used?
The Quality of the Parts has never been an issue for me or any of the other guys I race with. Parts always work or fit the first time. Paul is always happy to give advice and answer questions.
What other motorsport stuff are you into?
Pretty much anything that gets the heart rate up.
