1. Will my order ship by letter post?

So that we can offer the most competitive prices on our entire range, when your order is of a size and weight that will fit into a letter, it will be shipped that way by priority post. We do that so that we can keep the cost of the products really low. If we don’t need to factor in a courier charge and we can charge a lot less for your items.

We do ship letters by Aus Post Priority so we can esure the best possible delivery time.  Priority is supposed to be fast – locally in Brisbane you can expect 1-2 days, but the problem is that Aus Post is not accountable for not delivering in that time period because those parcels aren’t tracked. The issue with letters is that if there is no priority sticker it is held up for a few days. Sometimes they make mistakes and don’t ‘priority service’ our priority letters, which is really unfair for everyone. We do our best, but once it’s shipped there’s little we can do to resolve slow mail.

When you place your order, we provide options for shipping. You can check if the items in your cart will ship by letter by looking in the available shipping methods. If you see “UPGRADE TO PARCEL” in there, then it will be shipped by letter.\

IF YOU DO NOT SEE THE "UPGRADE TO COURIER" OPTION in the shipping options in the checkout, YOUR ORDER WILL SHIP BY COURIER

In the example below, we have added a #35 chain to our cart and proceeded to the checkout - NOTE THE "UPGRADE TO PARCEL" option IS NOTchecked and this order will ship by letter:

Yes, if your order is being shipped by letter using the free shipping service, you can select to upgrade your order to courier by checking the “UPGRADE TO PARCEL” option or Express.

3. How to upgrade your order to courier shipping without paying for a shipping upgrade

Alternatively you can purchase some items that don’t fit into a letter and add them to the cart.  In our example below, we add a pair of 30mm bearings to our cart.  Then the “UPGRADE TO PARCEL” item disappears – that means your item will ship by courier without the need to upgrade:
