WEEK 39 2019 CPR KART-BEAT UPDATE

PaulsFace Hi there!

Welcome to our fortnightly update.

Things have calmed down weather-wise nationally and there's been a flurry of activity out at the tracks.  Avalon Fun Kart Club held it's first Dash For Cash which received an impressive number of competitors.  Check out the go-pro video in the club news section to see the day from the drivers perspective.  The encouraging signs of spring are getting loads of project-builders out into the shed, with a whole bunch of our clients showing us what they've completed recently - thanks so much everyone for your support!

We've got heaps of interesting things this issue as we wait on our next shipment due next week.

LATEST DIY GUIDE: This week we discuss the process of installing a CPR Seat Stay set in our third installment in our RT Racing Go Kart Assembly series - scroll down to find it below.

CLUB NEWS.  This week several clubs have been out and about racing and we've got some results to show you!

FEATURED DRIVER PROFILE:  This week, we're featuring Tyler Chandler (Races at Ma Ma Creek QLD - Lockyer Valley Dirt Track Kart Club).

FRIDAY NIGHT FUN:  This week we roll back the years and watch a video of racing in the 60's!  And in the theme of evolutoin, we'll also cover Emil Battista's Billycart and show pictures of it back in 1978 until now.  Scroll down to check these interesting articles out.

NEW PRODUCTS - Find out about about our new products first, we'll be including in each issue the latest items to arrive and one or two hot products of the week.

SHIPPING INTERRUPTIONS & HOLIDAYS- Our phone hours have changed - due to a staff shortage we are now offering only email support on Fridays - shipping will be normal on fridays though.  Scroll down to find out what's happening.

If you prefer not to receive these emails, click the unsubscribe link at the top or bottom of this email - and if you want to keep receiving our emails then you don't need to do anything at all! Just sit back and check out the fun each week!

Oh, and don't forget to jump online and check out our store to make sure you've got everything you need to race this coming weekend!

DriverProfileIconPHONE HOURS CHANGE (temporary)

WE'RE OPEN FRIDAYS (with email support)
No phone support Fridays temporarily.

We have some staff on leave, so our staff level is temporarily reduced.  We've decided to concentrate on ensuring we get your orders out super-fast like usual, so if you're buying from the store you'll notice absolutely nothing at all.  However, in order to do this we've had to cut back on phone support on Fridays - if you need help, we're concentrating on email - it's fast, you'll generally get a reply within 15 minutes as we're keeping a close eye on it on Fridays.  So if you've got an enquiry, email us and we'll help you out.  If you have an order on Fridays, you can place your order in our safe and secure web store and we'll send it the same day as long as it's paid by 2pm (just like normal).

THIS WEEK'S DIY GUIDE

CPR RACING GO KART ASSEMBLY SERIES - Part 5 - Seat Stay Installation

In our new series, we'll cover assembling one of our popular CPR RT DIY Racing Go Karts.  If you've ever wondered just how easy it is to get one up and running, you'll be surprised just how simple and quick the whole process is.

CPR RT DIY Racing Go Karts offer fun for the entire family - and you'll learn how to assemble and disassemble through the process so you can service your racing go kart and keep it running at the front of the field.

In this guide, we walk you through installing the seat stay.  If you've bought a CPR RT DIY Go Kart or a Seat Stay / Seat Stay Pair this guide will explain how to fit your new parts.

Looking for a guide to a different section of the CPR RT DIY Racing Go Kart?

Seat Stay Installation. (Left Side Only)

**NOTE: The brake disc cover is not intended to be used with the Seat Stay. If you are using the seat stay do not install the brake disc cover. However, both may be installed if the brake cover is modified.

Seat Stay / Support 1 piece *FIT KIT Axle Fitting Kit

a. Remove the M8x50 bolt at the top front of the left side bearing.

b. Place the seat stay at the outside of the bracket secure using the M8x50 bolt previously removed. Ensure the stays angle in towards the centre of the kart.

This will be attached to the seat once installed later.

FRIDAY NIGHT FUN 2

Emil's Billycart Evolution 1978-2019

FRIDAY NIGHT FUN - Emil's Billycart Evolution 1978-2019

Every Friday we'll be posting one of our fantastic customer DIY projects. These have been designed and built using quality CPR kart parts by guys and girls just like you! There's some really exciting stuff to check out, so keep an eye out each Friday for our next instalment!

This week: Emil's Billycart Evolution 1978-2019

Emil has recently purchased a bunch of parts to modernise his billy cart - and now it's certainly back to the future!

The billy cart is virtually completed and almost ready for a test rum. Just need the 40wheel spacers which are on the way and two brake cables which I will have on Thursday.

My current billycart which I am very happy with has evolved from – see below.

Thank you for all your help. I will certainly tell anyone who wants to know where I got my parts from

1978
Steering Wheel and ROPE
• Hand brake on RHS pneumatic tyre
• My Son Peter is pilot

1979
Steering Wheel and Tie rods
• Hand brake on RHS pneumatic tyre. Clocked at 50 km/hr – I was younger and less wise!
• Now I just have less hair

2019
Go Kart steering and wheel components
• Hand brake on both rear bicycle pneumatic tyre wheel rim. Awaiting, for cables to get delivered!
• Lower end of steering column fitted with a ball bearing

Go Kart steering and wheel components
• Toe-in not yet adjusted

VIDEO Geoff's Scale Lotus Build EPISODE 36
FRIDAY NIGHT FUN Geoff's Scale Lotus Build

*WE MADE AN ERROR AND DIDN'T SCREEN EPISODE 36!  OOPS!  So that we can square things up with Geoff, we're runing it out of order this week.

"In this episode I finish the center console make a hole for the exhaust the side panels then spray lots of primer" - Geoff

If you love Geoff's build (like us) then you can show him your support by subscribing to his youtube channel - juscozcustoms -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfcMULO5jS0

You've seen that dream car - the deep gloss paint glistening in the sun, beckoning you closer to touch it's smooth surface - to open it's door, jump into the driver's seat and turn that key (or press that button if your dream is a bit more modern). And then the reality hit's - it's not yours - and worse still, you can't afford it. It's the reality most of us motor enthusiasts suffer on a a daily basis. BUT WHAT IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO JUST DREAM?

That's when Geoff decided it was time to change the rules. Affordability didn't have to get in the way of his dream! He chose to build his own - a 1/2 scale version of a Lotus 7. BRILLIANT! We agree! Thinking outside the box or square or circle is what Geoff is also talented at, and because his project is going to be just as much fun, he's decided to take us all along for the ride! Thanks Geoff!

This is Geoff's thread. Using CPR Kart Parts components, Geoff willl build his very own 1/2 scale Lotus 7. Keep an eye on this thread AND subscribe to his youtube channel to keep updated! We'll also be sharing his videos on our facebook page.

Want to know more about Geoff? Here's a bit of a run-down on the man behind all the fun:

What is this awesome thing you've built?
"1/2 scale lotus 7"

Why did you decide to build this project?
Thought it would be cool and can't afford to build a full size one YET...

What is still left to do to finish it?
"Lots of little things then body work."

What are you going to do with it when it's finished?
"Glorious drifts using a pair of cpr drift rings and maybe even get it on a gokart track"

Why did you buy your parts from CPR?
"Good quality parts at an affordable price "

What was the best thing about the CPR parts you used?
"I can't fault them. The machining and finish is perfect"

What other motorsport stuff are you into?
"I build custom cars not necessarily race cars but they can go fast"

You can follow Geoff's build along with us on his thread on our site, including all the videos as they are posted on youtube here:
https://cutpriceracing.com.au/store/PROJECT-Geoff-Garth-s-1-2-Scale-Lotus-7/

along with a quick write-up of what you've done and why and we'll try to feature it in our future newsletters.

And remember, we're here to help you get out there racing!

You can always be sure your items will leave the same day you order as long as you've made payment by 2pm that day. Sure, it's a big claim, but I know shopping online is all about getting it before the weekend race day, and that's why I'm absolutely dedicated to getting our gear out the same day you order. I believe so strongly that this is a critical component of our business that I've devoted the last two hours of the day to ensuring just that. Don't be surprised if I can't get to the phone during these times as we're probably flat out! Just leave me a message and I'll call you back asap.

I know if you've bought from us before, you've had a great experience.
