WEEK 37 2019 CPR KART-BEAT UPDATE

PaulsFace Hi there!

Welcome to our fortnightly update.

With so much going on around the country - lack of rain, bushfires, and even snow falling into the bushfires, it's been a crazy time right the way around Australia over the past couple of weeks.  It hasn't held back our enthusiastic karters and mower racers though!  Everyone has still been getting out there, and with so many exciting events comin up on the horizon shortly it's a great time to dust off that kart and get out amongst it!  Avalon Fun Kart Club have also scheduled a dash-for-cash 5-race prize-money round this weekend on Sunday so if you're in the area, check it out!  Scroll down to learn more in the CLUB NEWS section.

LATEST DIY GUIDE: This week we discuss the process of installing a CPR brake disc guard in our third installment in our RT Racing Go Kart Assembly series - scroll down to find it below.

CLUB NEWS.  This week several clubs have been out and about racing!

FEATURED DRIVER PROFILE:  This week, we're featuring Darren Meen, a competitor at Ipswich City Dirt Kart Club (WillowbankQLD).

FRIDAY NIGHT FUN:  This week we take a look at Ray Mackay's Racey Disco Mower (his latest creation).  We'll also watch Geoff as he finishes shows us alll how to build your very own ally seat in his (Scale Lotus 7) video series.

NEW PRODUCTS - Find out about about our new products first, we'll be including in each issue the latest items to arrive and one or two hot products of the week.

SHIPPING INTERRUPTIONS & HOLIDAYS- Our phone hours have changed - due to a staff shortage we are now offering only email support on Fridays - shipping will be normal on fridays though.  Scroll down to find out what's happening.

If you prefer not to receive these emails, click the unsubscribe link at the top or bottom of this email - and if you want to keep receiving our emails then you don't need to do anything at all! Just sit back and check out the fun each week!

Oh, and don't forget to jump online and check out our store to make sure you've got everything you need to race this coming weekend!

DriverProfileIconPHONE HOURS CHANGE (temporary)

WE'RE OPEN FRIDAYS (with email support)
No phone support Fridays temporarily.

We have some staff on leave, so our staff level is temporarily reduced.  We've decided to concentrate on ensuring we get your orders out super-fast like usual, so if you're buying from the store you'll notice absolutely nothing at all.  However, in order to do this we've had to cut back on phone support on Fridays - if you need help, we're concentrating on email - it's fast, you'll generally get a reply within 15 minutes as we're keeping a close eye on it on Fridays.  So if you've got an enquiry, email us and we'll help you out.  If you have an order on Fridays, you can place your order in our safe and secure web store and we'll send it the same day as long as it's paid by 2pm (just like normal).

This week, we're featuring Darren Meen (Races at Ipswich City Dirt Kart Club - Willowbank QLD)

Darren needs no introduction to his peers at Ipswich, almost part of the furniture, Darren and his dad John have been wrenching away for almost 20 years building impressive engines and karts.

A testament to their commitment and engineering prowess, Darren's driving regularly nets him consistent podium finishes.

Darren predominantly competes in modified class - and those engines are heavily worked to the point they are quite difficult to keep running.  We suspect Darren is having a bit of a laugh given that his goal this year is "I just want to finish"!  And we understand too Darren!  Running engines on the edge like that is fraught with danger - but also incredibly exciting!

Well done Darren! You're our featured profile this week.

FRIDAY NIGHT FUN - Ray's Racey Disco Lawn Mower

Every Friday we'll be posting one of our fantastic customer DIY projects. These have been designed and built using quality CPR kart parts by guys and girls just like you! There's some really exciting stuff to check out, so keep an eye out each Friday for our next instalment!

This week: Ray's Racey Disco Lawn Mower

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO OF RAY'S DISCO LIT RACE MOWER HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdziCi8jYEQ

Ray's obsession with building awesome racing lawn mowers has no end in sight.  He's incredibly passionate about his mowers, and along with the rest of his family he is heavily involved in AROLMRA racing mower association, putting on races around the country regularly.

Ray's latest creation
Just thought I'd share my latest creation.

It's a C-Class AROLMRA mower running a Chinese 190cc pitbike engine.  Running  all CPR rear axle - hubs, sprockets, and up front CPR front stub assembly and wheel adaptors front and rear.

CPR sticker looks mint on the rear guard as well!

This will debut at the Deni Ute Muster early October 2019.

Check out the pictures and videos of the mower by clicking here

And you can check out all the rest of Ray's builds by checking out his thread below.

VIDEO Geoff's Scale Lotus Build ALLOY SEAT BUILD!
FRIDAY NIGHT FUN Geoff's Scale Lotus Build ALLOY SEAT BUILD

"In this episode I show how simple it can be to make an alloy seat with just basic hand tools and a tig welder.
This one is for my half scale lotus 7 go kart  " - Geoff

If you love Geoff's build (like us) then you can show him your support by subscribing to his youtube channel - juscozcustoms - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emoHPje7A8U

You've seen that dream car - the deep gloss paint glistening in the sun, beckoning you closer to touch it's smooth surface - to open it's door, jump into the driver's seat and turn that key (or press that button if your dream is a bit more modern). And then the reality hit's - it's not yours - and worse still, you can't afford it. It's the reality most of us motor enthusiasts suffer on a a daily basis. BUT WHAT IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO JUST DREAM?

That's when Geoff decided it was time to change the rules. Affordability didn't have to get in the way of his dream! He chose to build his own - a 1/2 scale version of a Lotus 7. BRILLIANT! We agree! Thinking outside the box or square or circle is what Geoff is also talented at, and because his project is going to be just as much fun, he's decided to take us all along for the ride! Thanks Geoff!

This is Geoff's thread. Using CPR Kart Parts components, Geoff willl build his very own 1/2 scale Lotus 7. Keep an eye on this thread AND subscribe to his youtube channel to keep updated! We'll also be sharing his videos on our facebook page.

Want to know more about Geoff? Here's a bit of a run-down on the man behind all the fun:

What is this awesome thing you've built?
"1/2 scale lotus 7"

Why did you decide to build this project?
Thought it would be cool and can't afford to build a full size one YET...

What is still left to do to finish it?
"Lots of little things then body work."

What are you going to do with it when it's finished?
"Glorious drifts using a pair of cpr drift rings and maybe even get it on a gokart track"

Why did you buy your parts from CPR?
"Good quality parts at an affordable price "

What was the best thing about the CPR parts you used?
"I can't fault them. The machining and finish is perfect"

What other motorsport stuff are you into?
"I build custom cars not necessarily race cars but they can go fast"

You can follow Geoff's build along with us on his thread on our site, including all the videos as they are posted on youtube here:
https://cutpriceracing.com.au/store/PROJECT-Geoff-Garth-s-1-2-Scale-Lotus-7/

LET US SHOW THE WORLD YOUR PROJECT!

SPECIAL! CLIENT SUCCESS STORY

DEON STEVENS & HIS BOYS GET KARTING SILVER AT TOWNSVILLE

This week we're doing something a little different and including one of our client's success stories - we love it when our clients do special things with our products, and even more so when it's family oriented.  Deon Stevens and his clan have been steadily improving this year and have managed to come back from the recent Robb Harrison Memorial in Townsville with some karting silver!  Well done Deon , Jake and Adain!

Click Deon's linked name above to learn more about him, his karts and his new trailer!

Here's what Deon had to say about his enjoyable weekend:

A great days racing at the Robb Harrison Memorial in Townsville.

Had 3 karts entered for the meet with Jake in the Yamaha snr class blowing his motor up in practice so that was it for the day didn`t even make a start but that`s racing,Luke in the KA4 jnr clas had big improvement on his driving with qly on 7 , with heat 1 and 2 silly mistakes and DAD getting gearing wrong didn`t do so good but then heat 3 made big gains, in the final he ended up bringing home in 7th without some rumbing and been forced of tracked big improvement for Luke.

Then we had Adain in the cadet 12,qly we were on the money Adain and Tyler O'connor were in a different postcode with .995 to the closest competitor and with only ,140 between the 2.So all the heats and final it was between the 2 with Tyler having the edge and taking out all heats and final. and Adain setting the fastest lap in the final.

a great 2nd place Overall the team had a great day

Have you got a project you've completed using some CPR parts that you'd like to show the CPR Kart Parts community?

Email your project to [email protected]

along with a quick write-up of what you've done and why and we'll try to feature it in our future newsletters.

And remember, we're here to help you get out there racing!

You can always be sure your items will leave the same day you order as long as you've made payment by 2pm that day. Sure, it's a big claim, but I know shopping online is all about getting it before the weekend race day, and that's why I'm absolutely dedicated to getting our gear out the same day you order. I believe so strongly that this is a critical component of our business that I've devoted the last two hours of the day to ensuring just that. Don't be surprised if I can't get to the phone during these times as we're probably flat out! Just leave me a message and I'll call you back asap.

I know if you've bought from us before, you've had a great experience. Nothing's changed with our focus - we still want to help the average Australian race, but we're expanding our range every day so I'd love for you to check out our latest website updates and see if we can help you again, today.
