Few years back a mate showed up to a camping weekend with this. A ratty old Demon X8 (i think?).
It was rough as hell on the dirt, understeered like a pig and had a carby FULL of crap. None the less it was bulk fun! A week after the camping trip was over I scored it off him for $300. Some nagging needed. lol
First thing I did was move the rear axle back behind the motor so the front wheels would hook up. The thing would just drive you into a tree soon as look at you. Change to 13inch rear wheels and wheel barrow wheels on the front. Clean the fuel/mud out of the carby next. The fuel tank was so full of rust and sh!t it went to the bin. Truly amazing it ran at all.
The cb125 motor was a blast but its 6hp was soon making me dream of bigger things. Enter the cheap ass 420cc 16hp Chonda a CPR clutch and front hubs!
To small still bub try next year.
When CPR released belt torque converters I was all over it like a fat kid on a cupcake!
Top speed is about 50kph and wheel spin/drifto fun is easy at any speed. It does kills the torque converter belt if you smash it to long though. Not that I would drive like that?
As much as I loved driving the old clunker it was never really going to suit off road work.
I needed a new plan....................
