Models with Jackshaft unassembled
If your TCC1# Torque Converter was supplied without the Jackshaft pre-assembled, here is a quick guide on assembly of that section:
1. Locate all components.
The picture below shows the components of the Jackshaft assembly. From Left to Right at the top - DRIVEN, and BACK PLATE.
From Left to Right at the bottom - JACKSHAFT (Circlip attached on the right side) & Key below, Jackshaft Sprocket, NYLOC Nut, Keyed Washer, Washer.
2. Install JACKSHAFT in BACK PLATE
Push the jackshaft from the rear of the plate through to the front until the circlup meets the bearing. In the picture below, the rear of the backplate is facing upward. Use a rubber mallet to push the jackshaft all the way home.
3. Install WASHER
Next, slide the standard washer all the way down the shaft.
4. Install KEY
Insert the key at the bottom of the shaft against the washer you just installed.
5. Install Jackshaft SPROCKET
Slide the sprocket all the way down the shaft so that it meets the washer you installed in step 3.
6. Install DRIVEN Pulley
Slide the Driven pulley onto the jackshaft all the way down onto the sprocket.
7. Install KEYED WASHER
Slide the keyed washer onto the jackshaft against the driven pulley.
8. Install NYLOC Nut
Install and tighten Nyloc Nut - this just needs to be firm, but not overtight.
